Are you left-handed?
Do friends call you “southpaw” or “lefty” or “weird”?
If so, you’re not alone. We have more than one left-handed team members at PlayBetter and, to be honest, they’re the coolest people in the company (according to a completely unbiased fake report in the New York Times and the author of this post).
Being left-handed, however, does come with its own unique set of obstacles. And when talking about the SkyTrak Golf Launch Monitor, it’s important to note a few things that’ll help other non right-handers enjoy the top golf simulator on the market today.
First and foremost - you can absolutely use the SkyTrak if you are a left-handed golfer!
Second, you need to make sure the software knows the person golfing is indeed left-handed. This can be done by visiting “Session Settings” found under the “Menu” section. From there, you’ll see a “Preferred Hand” option which can be easily toggled from left to right.
Also, when switching the golfer to left-handed, you’ll need to physically move the SkyTrak system to the other side of the mat, otherwise you’ll, you know, probably hit the simulator and cause some damage.
And that’s it! You might find a number of forums online that mention issues with using the machine if you’re a left-hander, but a lot of those are from a few years back before SkyTrak had a chance to go through some software updates and make some changes. So enjoy the SkyTrak and enjoy being in your “right mind.”
