How to Set Up Your Carl’s Place DIY Golf Enclosure Package (Step-by-Step Guide)

Step-by-step instructions on how to build your brand new Carl's Place DIY Golf Studio Enclosure Package.

So, you’ve just ordered your Carl’s Place DIY Golf Enclosure Package from PlayBetter.com — congrats! You're one step closer to having an epic golf simulator setup at home. While the full instruction manual and video guide are your go-to resources, we’ve created this post to walk you through the essential steps—so you can get up and running faster and with fewer headaches.

👉 Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • Your full enclosure kit (pipes, fittings, screen, nylon enclosure, ball bungees, foam inserts, etc.)

  • A large enough space cleared (check your enclosure size specs!)

  • A helper—some steps are easier with two people

  • A rubber mallet, step ladder, and measuring tape

Instruction PDFs & Walk-Thru Video

We recommend using the instruction manual and video guide as your go-to resources during the build process.

Step 1: Build the Frame

🧱 Start with the base: Lay out your frame using the labeled pipe sections. Use the corner and T-connectors to assemble the floor rectangle. This creates the footprint of your enclosure.

📏 Go vertical: Add the upright poles to each corner. Then connect the top frame across the ceiling. This is what gives your enclosure its full 3D structure.

🔧 Tip: Use a rubber mallet to firmly insert pipes into connectors—don’t be shy! A snug fit is key to stability.

Step 2: Attach the Impact Screen

🪝 Align the screen: Center your impact screen across the front of the frame. Make sure the hook-and-loop side is facing out if you’re using optional foam inserts later.

💥 Secure with bungees: Use the included ball bungees to attach the screen to the frame. Start at the corners and work your way around to maintain even tension.

📌 Pro Tip: You want the screen taut—but not over-tight. There should be just enough give to absorb impact without causing bounceback.

Step 3: Add the Nylon Enclosure Panels

🖤 Side & top panels: The black nylon enclosure attaches to the frame via hook-and-loop strips. Drape the panels over the top bar and secure down each side.

🔒 Seal the corners: Fasten the corner seams using the integrated hook-and-loop sections to create a tight, seamless look.

💡 Lighting note: The black nylon helps absorb ambient light, improving your projector’s image quality.

Step 4: Optional Add-ons (Highly Recommended)

🧩 Foam Insert Kit: Slides 18–20 in this presentation show how to install foam panels around the screen edges. These reduce ball rebound and give your enclosure a clean, finished look.

🛡️ Back Cover Kit: Want a fully enclosed setup? Add the back cover and back piping for a polished, immersive environment (especially useful in bright spaces).

Step 5: Final Checks

Make sure:

  • All fittings are snug and aligned

  • The screen has even tension

  • The enclosure nylon is smooth and secure

  • Optional accessories are in place

🎯 Now you're ready to set up your launch monitor, projector, and hitting mat!
