How difficult are the Mevo and Mevo+ Plus launch monitors to set up?

Setting up both FlightScope launch monitors is easy!

The FlightScope Mevo

  1. Download and install the Mevo app onto your mobile device. Make sure your mobile devices Bluetooth is on.
  2. Open the app on your phone, sign up or log in, and turn on your Mevo device.
  3. Press the settings icon in the top bar of the Mevo app. Press the "Select" button next to "Devices in Range." The app will begin searching for the device.
  4. Once connected the Bluetooth icon will switch from red to blue. The battery light on your Mevo will go from blinking to solid.
  5. Your Mevo is now ready to use. Open the kickstand and place behind the tee position.
  6. Switch off the Mevo by pressing and holding the button until all indicators are off.

 

The FlightScope Mevo+ Plus

Download the FS Golf app.

Easy Method:

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi on your device.
  2. Switch on Mevo by holding button until unit beeps.
  3. Launch FS Golf app.
  4. In app, scan QR code on back of unit.
  5. Indicator on the unit will show connection.

Manual Method:

  1. Make sure your phone’s Wi-Fi is turned on.
  2. Press the on/off button on the unit, the system and battery lights will come on. The connection light will be solid blue while the unit is ready for connection.
  3. Select Wi-Fi settings on your phone and select the unit with your serial number. The Wi-Fi password is your serial number, for example: M2-123456.
  4. The connection light on the the unit will turn to solid green when connection has been established.
  5. Launch the app on your phone and proceed.

Open the Kickstand before placing.

Do I need a mobile device to use the FlightScope Mevo and Mevo+ Plus?

Yes, you need a mobile device to use the FlightScope Mevo and Mevo+ Plus. You will need to download the FS Mevo app/FS Golf app from either the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

How much space is required to use the Mevo and Mevo+ Plus indoors & outdoors?

The FlightScope Mevo

Recommended setup position is 6ft behind the tee. Setup position may be as short as 4ft for smaller spaces. For high swing speed, radar should be moved back to 7ft.

Keep the the area between the Mevo and the tee clear of any objects and people.

Place a metallic sticker on the ball for optimal spin accuracy. Aim the metallic sticker on the ball away from the radar.

The Mevo should be level with the launch position for most accurate readings.

The FlightScope Mevo+ Plus

Outdoor: 7’-8’ (2.1m-2.4m) sensor to tee with unrestricted ball flight

Indoor (metallic dots required): 8’ (2.4m) sensor to tee; 13’ (4m) min. to net

  1. Place the Mevo+ behind the ball position so that the camera aims along the chosen target line
  2. In the App, follow the instructions using the camera view to align.

Keep the the area between the Mevo and the tee clear of any objects and people.

Best practice is to keep the unit on the floor with a level surface between the unit and the mat.

For the best spin accuracy indoors, place a reflective sticker on the ball.

Place the ball so that the sticker faces forward, directly away from the Mevo+.

How do the FlightScope Mevo and Mevo+ Plus connect to my mobile device?

The FlightScope Mevo golf launch monitor uses Bluetooth to connect. The FlightScope Mevo+ Plus uses Wi-Fi to connect to your mobile device.

How do I know how much battery power I have?

Both the FlightScope Mevo and Mevo+ Plus units have battery power indicators on them.

How much battery life do these FlightScope launch monitors provide?

The FlightScope Mevo gets up to 4 hours on a full charge.

No. Only the more advanced Swing Caddie SC300i launch monitor can be used with the MySwingCaddie app for added features through a Bluetooth connection when you download the Swing Caddie app to your phone. The SC200 PLUS does not have Bluetooth technology and cannot be connected to your phone or used with the app.

How do I connect my SC300i to my phone through a Bluetooth connection

To establish a Bluetooth connection between your SC300i golf launch monitor and your mobile device, first make sure you have the MySwingCaddie app downloaded, and NOT the Voice Caddie app. Then follow these steps:

    1. Turn on the SC300i
    2. Open the Swing Caddie app on your device
    3. Select the Bluetooth icon on the app
    4. Choose SC330i
    5. The Bluetooth should be enabled when you see the Bluetooth icon at the top of the SC300i unit.

How accurate are the SC300i readings?

The Swing Caddis SC3000i accuracy is:

    • + or - 2% for ball speed
    • + or - 3 yards for Carry Distance in Target Mode
    • + or - 3 yards for Carry Distance in Practice Mode

When tested by our partner, Gabe, at Let's Play Thru, on the driving range, both against the wind and with the wind, the SC300i proved to have extremely good accuracy. When checked against a rangefinder, it was within 1 or 2 yards of the flag.

Can I use this MLM indoors while hitting into a net?

Yes! If you have one of these devices, you will have the option to choose between Indoor/Outdoor modes right after you hit Play and then Practice. If not, it will automatically assume you are on Outdoor mode because the device is not supported.

If your device is not currently supported for MLM Net, please be patient as we continue working to optimize our algorithms to make MLM Net available for additional devices.

Rapsodo MLM outdoor vs indoor?

On Outdoor Mode, MLM provides club type, distance (carry for irons and wedges, can select carry or total for woods), club speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, launch direction.
 
On Net Mode, shot trace, auto club recognition, GPS shot map, competitions and games are disabled.

Can I use wiffle or foam practice balls with the Rapsodo launch monitor?

No. In order for you to get accurate data, you will need to use a real golf ball. The MLM will not trigger properly if using a wiffle or foam practice ball.

How should I position the Rapsodo MLM to capture my full swing and ball flight?

Place the MLM 6-8ft behind you. When addressing the ball, look back at your iOS device to ensure you see your body in the “Player Area” and the ball in the “Ball Area”. The alignment line in between the two boxes and should be aimed parallel to your target line.

How do I set up the Rapsodo MLM launch monitor?

To set up the Rapsodo MLM, you should make sure that you have fully charged the unit before using it. The light should be amber when charging, it should turn off completely when fully charged.

  • Press the power button on the side, it will go from red to blue when it is connected.
  • The Bluetooth connection should be enabled on the MLM, and you should allow Bluetooth connection through your iPhone settings.
  • Go to Profile, you will see an inscription that says “Not Connected”, if you click on that, MLM will show up under available devices.
  • Then select “Play”, and “Practice”. The LED should turn green here.
  • To confirm location use only 1 finger to move the location around and 2 fingers to navigate the direction.
    You do not need to open your phone camera, once you hit play and then practice, you will see that the camera will open within the app. Allowing camera and microphone access is necessary, you can also check that in your iPhone settings. Type “MLM” in the search bar in your iPhone settings to check that.
  • Red target line should be in line with the ball and the end of the target. MLM must see you and the ball in the frame to be able to see the ball flight. Please use the ball area and the golfer area as a guide.

    • PC: You will need a PC running Windows 7, 8, or 10, Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz or higher, 2GB RAM or higher.

What are the requirements to run SkyTrak software?

  • SkyTrak for iOS: iPad Air and newer, iPad Mini 2 (with Retina Display) and newer, iPad Pro and iPhone 6 and newer
  • SkyTrak for Android: Google Pixel C, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung Galaxy S8. In general, we have seen best results with newer Android devices containing Octa-core (or dual quad-core) processors.
  • SkyTrak for Windows: Windows 7/8/10, Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz or higher, 2GB RAM or higher
  • Third-party golf simulation software requirements vary by provider

How do I connect my SkyTrak to a projector?

For iPad:

  1. Use a Lightning Digital AV Adapter with HDMI cable to connect your iPad directly to your TV or projector
  2. Use an Apple TV or another AirPlay capable device. On your iPad, open the Control Center and choose AirPlay. Then select Apple TV and the iPad display will be transferred to the TV or Projector

For PC:

  1. Use an HDMI cable to connect from your PC directly to your TV or Projector

How much space do I need to use my SkyTrak golf launch monitor?

These are the recommended minimum unobstructed dimensions for using your SkyTrak:

Ceiling height: Safe ceiling height varies and depends on your physical height and the length of your club.

Length: 10 feet (3,35m)

Width: 10 feet (3,35m)

Where should I place or how do I align my golf ball?

  • Make sure SkyTrak is raised level with the hitting surface.
  • Place SkyTrak parallel to your intended line of play. Depending on your set up, this may mean your target is not the center of the net.
  • Once SkyTrak is properly connected to the app on your mobile device, it will display a red laser dot on your hitting surface. Place a clean, white golf ball on the red dot.
  • The intended target line should be parallel to the SkyTrak for accurate shot simulation. Recommend using alignment mode to check the target line. Either mark your line of target on the ground or the net you are hitting into.

Tip: Use of alignment sticks/ golf clubs increases the accuracy of intended line of play.

Tip: Being too far above or below the hitting surface can affect consistent shot capture and ball flight data. Recommended laser distance 11 ½” to 12 ½”.

Tip: For optimum spin results, place the ball on the laser dot with some kind of marking on the golf ball, such as its brand logo, facing toward SkyTrak’s lens prior to hitting.

What kind of balls can I use with the SkyTrak launch monitor?

It is recommended that you use a clean, white ball with a logo or a marked line. Set the ball up with the logo or line facing SkyTrak for better spin readings, whether indoors or outside.

What technology does the SkyTrak golf launch monitor use?

The SkyTrak is a camera-based, or photometric, launch monitor. (Most are either camera-based Doppler-based.) Using photometric technology, SkyTrak captures high-speed images of the ball immediately after impact. The images captured are used to measure parameters necessary to render shot shape and carry distance.

What launch data parameters are measured with the SkyTrak?

SkyTrak measures:

Technically, as long as you have enough room to safely swing a golf club, you have enough room to use your SkyTrak system. This is an advantage over some other professional devices that require more space.

  1. Ensure the tripod mount is free of any debris.
  2. Insert the top of the tripod mount into the back of the device. The tripod mount is magnetic and holds the device in place. NOTE: The tripod mount can only be installed one way. If it is not fully seated in the back of the device, you have installed it using the wrong orientation.
  3. Open the tripod legs so they are fully extended.

Do I need a mobile device to use the Garmin Approach R10?

Yes, you need a mobile device to use the Approach R10. You will need to download the Garmin Golf App from either the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

How do I pair my smartphone with the R10 launch monitor?

To use this device, you must pair it with the Garmin Golf app.

  1. From the app store on your smartphone, install and open the Garmin Golf app.
  2. Bring your smartphone near your device.
  3. Press the button to turn on your device.

    The first time you turn on the device, it automatically enters pairing mode, and the status LED is solid blue.

    TIP: You can hold the button while the device is off until the status LED turns solid blue to manually enter pairing mode.
  4. From the menu in the app, select Garmin Devices > Add Device, and follow the on-screen instructions.

How much space is required to use the Approach R10 indoors & outdoors?

You'll need to place the unit 6-8' behind you and allow for 8'+ of space in front for ball flight measurements. NOTE: If you are using a golf mat, make sure the bottom edge of the device sits above the mat.
