The Garmin Edge 130 Plus — The Best Affordable Bike Computer

  • Advanced Workouts lets you sync workouts from your Garmin Connect account and others like TrainingPeaks, right to your Edge 130 Plus bike GPS computer.

The Garmin Edge 830 with Touchscreen — The Best Bike Computer

The Garmin Edge 830 GPS cycling computer gives you smooth, convenient touchscreen usability during your ride. It provides all the dynamic performance monitoring features, insights for improvement, and mapping that the Edge 1030 Plus GPS bike computer offers.

The main differences between the Edge 830 vs the Edge 1030 Plus are screen size, battery life, and, of course, price. Also, it does not have daily workout suggestions, which is a feature of the Edge 1030 Plus alone.

The Edge 830 has a smaller screen than the Edge 1030 Plus—2.6" compared to 3.5". It also weighs 2.8 oz, while the 1030 Plus comes in at 4.4 oz. To put the whole lineup in perspective, the Edge 530 bike computer is roughly the same dimensions and weight as the Edge 830, while the Edge 130 Plus sports a 1.8" display and weighs only 1.2 oz.

As you might suspect, size relates directly to battery power. The Garmin Edge 830 gets up to 20 hours of battery life—plenty of juice for a long trip or several days of commutes or after-work rides.

If you can do without an inch more of screen, 4 hours of battery life, and a little bit of workout insights, you can pretty much get the Edge 1030 Plus in the Edge 830 for $200 less!

The Garmin Edge 530 — The Best GPS Bike Computer for Improving Your Performance

The Edge 530 GPS bike computer is basically the Edge 830 without the touchscreen. This means that you still get almost all the amazing performance, mapping, and safety features as the 1030 Plus, but without the larger screen, the suggested workouts feature, touchscreen capability, and you have up to 20 hours of battery life compared to the Edge 1030's 24.

If you can forego all of these, you'll pay $300 less than the Edge 1030 Plus cycling GPS, and $100 less than the Edge 830.

Like all of the Edge devices, the Edge 530 GPS computer for biking is ultra durable and water resistant with an official water rating of IPX7. And it can give you weather updates throughout your ride.

The Edge 530, like all of the bike GPS computers in the Edge lineup, offers a lot of advanced features for cyclist, with a few tweaks that will speak to a specific type of rider and consumer. That is what Garmin does, designs their devices into a range of options to offer their top technology to every kind of rider
