We're serving up lots of details in this section because size and build quality can be a major factor in your GPS fitness watch purchase. You may want a slimmer, lighter watch, whereas a bulkier Garmin watch may be more resistant to the elements and have more room for features. A smaller display may be perfect for some workouts, while a larger screen may offer more stat data at a glance. It all comes down to you!
Garmin fēnix 6/6S (standard)
The fēnix 6 has a 1.3" (30.4 mm) diameter color display with a Corning® Gorilla® Glass DX lens. It has a stainless steel bezel and fiber-reinforced polymer case with metal rear cover watch, making it a heavier watch at 80 g. Physical dimensions of 47 x 47 x 14.7 mm—making it a little thicker than the 945.
The fēnix 6S has a 1.2” (30.4 mm) diameter color display with a Corning® Gorilla® Glass DX lens. It has a stainless steel bezel and fiber-reinforced polymer case with metal rear cover watch, making it the lightest of the fēnix 6 series. Physical dimensions are 42 x 42 x 13.8 mm—making it smaller than the fēnix 6 size.
The strap for both the fēnix 6 and fēnix 6S is silicone, and they have a 10 ATM water rating (Withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 100 meters and splashes, rain or snow, showering, swimming, diving into water, snorkeling, and high-speed water sports).
Garmin fēnix 6/6S/6X Pro & Sapphire
The fēnix 6/6S Pro & Sapphire have the same dimensions and display sizes as the standard fēnix 6/6S. However, due to some other materials offered, such as titanium and DLC coated steel, and a sapphire lens on the fēnix 6 Sapphire editions, the weight varies by several grams—titanium being a lighter material than steel. All in all, they are a bit heavier than most Garmin watches.
The fēnix 6X is not available in a standard model (only Pro, Sapphire, and Pro Solar). The fēnix 6X has a 1.4” (35.56 mm) diameter color display with a Corning® Gorilla® Glass DX lens—sapphire crystal for the Sapphire edition. It offers a stainless steel or DLC coated steel bezel and fiber-reinforced polymer case with metal rear cover watch, making it the heaviest watch in this lineup at 93 g. Physical dimensions of 51 x 51 x 14.9 mm make it a considerably bulkier watch.
Garmin fēnix 6/6S/6X Pro Solar
The fēnix 6/6S/6X Pro Solar watches have the same dimensions and display sizes as the Pro and Sapphire editions. However, the lens is made of Power Glass™ for solar charging, and the weight varies because of a range of materials offered.
Garmin Enduro Multisport GPS Watch
Enduro has an always-on 1.4” sunlight-optimized display for easy viewing, even on the move. The lens is made from super durable Power Glass™ for solar-charging. The rugged, weather-resistant design is tuned for punishing race conditions, with a stainless steel or lightweight, scratch-resistant DLC-coated titanium bezel. Plus, it features a super-light sport loop band that’s elastic, adjustable and durable. The case is a fiber-reinforced polymer with metal rear cover. However, the Enduro is remarkably light for its size. While it has the largest display (1.4") and physical dimensions (51 x 51 x 14.9 mm) in this lineup, it only weighs 61 g (titanium bezel) and 71 g (steel bezel).
