Rally Garmin vs Vector 3 Power Meter Comparison

Here are the 3 things you need to know about Rally vs Vector 3/3S:

1. Garmin power pedals now offered in three (3) models each with SINGLE-SENSING (RS/RK/XC 100) and DUAL-SENSING (RS/RK/XC 200).

Rally RS 100/200 - Road pedals with Shimano SPD platform ($699.99/$1099.99)

Rally RK 100/200 - Road pedals with LOOK Keo platform ($699.99/$1099.99)

2. Vector 3/3S battery/consistency issues are 100% fixed thanks to extensive amounts of testing.

3. Should You Buy? — that depends on if...

"I DON'T have power pedals yet"100% yes you should buy. The accuracy you get from measuring power directly from the pedals is unparalleled. Plus with the bugs fixed AND being able to choose between Road and Mountain ... PLUS the seamless integration with Edge + the Garmin ecosystem ... No brainer. Once you start training with watts, you never go back. We promise. Click here to shop Rally RS/RK or XC.

"I already have the Vector 3 (with the new battery door)"  — There's no need to upgrade UNLESS you want to move from LOOK Keo (Vector 3) to Shimano OR Mountain bike pedals (in which case there are less expensive conversion kits). Otherwise, if you've received the updated battery door you're good to go!

What cleats are the Rally power meters compatible with?

The Rally models are described with letters and numbers that tell you a good deal about that particular power meter.

The first two letters of the model designate the cleat interface (RK for LOOK KEO, RS for SHIMANO SPD-SL and XC for SHIMANO SPD).

The numbers that follow indicate whether the pedals provide dual-sensing or single-sensing power measurement (100 for single-sensing, 200 for dual-sensing).

What's the difference between single- and dual-sensing?

The numbers 100 and 200 indicate whether the pedals provide dual-sensing or single-sensing power measurement (100 for single-sensing, 200 for dual-sensing).

Dual-sensing measures total power, cadence, left/right balance, and where in the pedal stroke you’re applying power to help you ride more efficiently.

Single-sensing power meters measure total power and cadence. It’s an affordable way to start, with the option to upgrade to the dual-sensing system later.

Are Garmin Rally pedals worth it?

The Rally pedal system offers:

  • Best-in-class cleat compatibility
  • Great design that performs very well.
  • Incredibly easy to install and swap between bikes
  • Single- and dual-sensing cycling dynamics
  • Road and off-road options
  • Works seamlessly with the Garmin ecosystem and Connect App

Do Garmin pedals work with Wahoo?

Get easy software updates via your Garmin watch, Edge® cycling computers, or your compatible smartphone.

How does a Garmin power meter work?

Garmin Rally pedal-based power meters measure your watt output based purely on the force exerted on the pedals.

Pedal-based power meters give you everything you need on performance, along with some pretty incredible data as well. This is a high-tech product that has a reputation for accurate readouts.

What is the battery life of Rally power meter pedals?

The replaceable coin-cell battery in Garmin cycling power meters gives you up to 120 hours of power measurement.
