Cobra AEROJET vs TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Drivers

Cobra AEROJET Golf Drivers

According to MyGolfSpy, "Cobra AEROJET LS ranks the best for distance. Multiple testers experienced eye opening results with this driver from a distance perspective."

But first, the overview. There are three models in the AEROJET drivers line: the standard, the LS, and the MAX.

The standard model AEROJET driver ($549.00) is designed for any golfer who is looking for fast, low head spin.

The Cobra AEROJET LS driver ($549.00) is the choice for golfers looking for low spin and low launch for maximum workability and control.

The AEROJET MAX driver ($549.00) features a draw-bias design that helps to reduce the tendency for the ball to slice, while also providing unrivaled stability and a low spin rate, resulting in ultimate distance on the course.

With these drivers, the emphasis is on aerodynamics to yeild a faster clubhead speed. Our go-to golf reviewer, Gabe from Let's Play Thru, tested all three out in his home golf simulator with the Bushnell Launch Pro.

He found that his clubhead speed was at the top of or over what he normally hits. The AEROJET MAX was the most forgiving. He found that the standard AEROJET driver had a solid impact feel, but that he had to make better contact with it. And with the LS, he found that carry distance was not quite as much and that the penalty for poor contact was higher.

In MyGolfSpy's 2023 Best Golf Driver testing, 35 testers tested 30 models. The Cobra AEROJET LS was #1 for Distance and Runner Up for Best Overall. Callaway Paradym drivers took #4 and #5 for Best Overall and Distance, respectively.

We highly recommend you check out Gabe's video above as he shows you several swings, the stats for each along with the averages, and discusses the aethetics and feel of these 2023 Cobra drivers!

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Drivers

With Stealth™, TaylorMade pushed past the limits of titanium and leapt into the Carbonwood™ Age. Next the question became: how far would they take it? Way past far and into what they branded FARGIVENESS. According to them, the all-new Stealth 2 line (for drivers, woods, and hybrids) combine the elements of speed and forgiveness to unlock this FARGIVENESS.

The Stealth 2 Plus won Most Wanted—#1 overall— in MyGolfSpy's 2023 Best Drivers testing. Out of 35 models, both the TaylorMade was #1 and the Cobra was #2. However, the Cobra did win #1 in the Distance category.

But let's get an overview of the Stealth 2 drivers, which are designed for three different types of golfers.

The Standard Stealth 2 Driver ($599.99) builds on the speed-producing success of the original 60X Carbon Twist Face™, the new design features an enhanced version of Inverted Cone Technology to help maintain ball speed on off-center strikes and increase forgiveness. Using a new Carbon Reinforced Composite Ring, it features nealry twice the amount of carbon.

The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus ($629.99) utilizes 75 percent more carbon. This advanced application of carbon allows for the redistribution of mass for more forgiveness and stability. The sliding weight track includes a single 15g weight that can be positioned for your preferred shot shape, while the FCT Loft Sleeve is used to optimize launch and trajectory.

The Stealth 2 HD Driver ($599.99) also features an enhanced version of Inverted Cone Technology to help maintain ball speed on off-center strikes and increase forgiveness. To make this draw-bias and forgiving club engineers utilized weight savings from the full-body carbon construction and shifted the Inertia Generator closer to the heel. The result is the most stable and forgiving driver in this family.

Cobra AEROJET vs TayloMade Stealth Golf Irons

Cobra AEROJET Golf Irons

The 2023 Cobra AEROJET irons are designed to be quite forgiving, quick off the face, and easy to launch and get in the air. These clubs are for players who not only want added forgiveness, but an iron that cranks out additional distance.

Let's look at the tech and then the two types.

First off, PWR-Bridge technology employs a 70g steel weight that is completely separated from the face, body, and sole of the iron. This positions the CG low to optimize launch and creates the needed space for the body structure to flex freely, resulting in more ball speed and added distance.

Then they added PWRSHELL H.O.T. Face technology for an even faster ball speed (Cobra tested these irons against its own LTDx irons and saw an increase of 10% more deflection resulting in upwards of 3.5 more yards per strike.)

The two models consist of the standard AEROJET and AEROJET ONE Length irons for $999.00 with Combo Sets for each model for $1,099.00.

TaylorMade Stealth Golf Irons

TaylorMade Stealth golf irons are optimized Cap Back™ for more forgiveness. The point is to offer irons that allow you to hit better and fewer shots.

The standard model TaylorMade Stealth Irons ($999.99) are powered by the all-new Cap Back Design with toe wrap construction, Stealth irons feature an intelligently positioned sweet spot that spans the most common impact points, delivering enhanced forgiveness with explosive ball speeds.

TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons ($999.99) were engineered to be different, delivering high launching distance with draw bias to give you the confidence to expect better shots, more often. They feature an ultra-low CG that progressively shifts it higher throughout the set for easier launch and playability in the long irons, while optimizing trajectory, and spin in the scoring clubs.

Cobra AEROJET vs TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Fairways Woods

Cobra AEROJET Golf Fairways

Across the AEROJET line, the advanced aerodynamics package really lends itself to speed and distance. And it's no different with these Cobra fairway woods.

They're design also consists of the PWR-BRIDGE feature—a 13g weight structure that is suspended above the sole of the driver to not only precisely locate the center of gravity but to bring greater flex to the lower part of the face. Thanks to Cobra’s new PWRSHELL face insert which features A.I. powered H.O.T. (Highly Optimized Topology) variable face thickness—that flexibility is possible.

The AEROJET fairway clubs are similar to the drivers, just a bit smaller and also come in the same three types.

The standard AEROJET Fairway Wood ($329.00) was made to deliver versatile shot-making capabilities and exceptional forgiveness, making it easier for players to experience more consistency with their shots.

The AEROJET LS Golf Fairway ($329.00) is designed with a refined and slightly more compact clubhead shape that is tailored to help golfers achieve greater accuracy and precision in their shots.

The AEROJET MAX Fairway Wood ($329.00) provides tunable draw-bias and unrivaled stability to give golfers maximum confidence from the fairway or off the tee.

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Fairways

With a 3D carbon crown and precision CG for higher launch, the all-new Stealth 2 Fairway is branded as being "like a cheat code". The idea is to help you take on any shot.

The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairway Woods ($349.99) offers higher launch with even lower CG than the original Stealth design. The reshaped 3D carbon crown pulls mass away from the high toe, making way for a heavy internal weight to be positioned at the rear of the club. Inverted Cone Technology face design is thinnest at true center and around the edges, with a thicker mantle surrounding center face. It is made to maximize speed across the face and enhance durability.

The Stealth 2 Plus Fairway Woods ($449.99) delivers a wide range of flight and performance characteristics with a combination of the 50g sliding weight and the 2° loft sleeve. Shift the weight back for higher launch and stability; leave the weight centered for versatile performance; or shift the weight forward for a low-spin ball flight with maximum distance.

The TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Fairways ($349.99) feature a radical departure from traditional TaylorMade fairway woods with an ultra-high MOI construction. It combines low CG projection with an oversized 200cc head to increase confidence and playability for golfers of all skill levels.

Cobra AEROJET vs TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Hybrids

Cobra AEROJET Golf Hybrids

The 2023 AEROJET hybrids are essentially the mini versions of the AEROJET driver lineup, featuring PWRSHELL H.O.T. FACE and PWR-BRIDGE technology for added distance and improved performance through center of gravity refinement.

To help get the most face flex in a smaller package, Cobra's hybrids don’t come with an adjustable hosel but offer all the lofts necessary to help you nail the right combination for your irons.

The AEROJET hybrid standard model ($279.00) blends distance and high launch to provide more forgiveness on longer approach shots and adaptability across different lies.

The AEROJET ONE Length option ($279.00) allows you to utilize one repeatable setup and swing for increased confidence and consistency from every distance.

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue Golf Hybrids

With Inverted Cone Technology and precision CG for high launch, the all-new family of Stealth 2 Rescue clubs are designed to deliver distance, forgiveness, and playability to golfers at every level.

In the Stealth 2 Resuce Hybrid standard model ($279.99) the center of gravity is positioned lower in the head compared to the original Stealth Rescue, delivering a more centered CG projection for optimal launch and spin. A mass pad positioned at the back of the club further increases MOI for forgiveness and playability.

This refined Tour-inspired shape of the Stealth 2 Plus Rescue Hybrid ($299.99) features a compact design preferred by better players. They combine control and workability with the added forgiveness of a Rescue.

With a larger overall profile and a deep CG, the Stealth 2 HD Rescue ($279.99) is designed to deliver high-launching shots that travel long-iron distances. Higher lofts encourage easy launch and greater success for a wide range of golfers, while the draw-bias design helps keep shots on target.
