These days, with so many golf launch monitors to choose from, it's important to consider the system requirements of the various devices.

You may be building a dream home golf setup and be okay with the fact that the launch monitor that you want requires a gaming computer.

Or, you might be in the market for a portable launch monitor that you can take anywhere and that runs easily with a smartphone or iPad.

Or something in between.

Either way, if you're going to spend the money on one of these fun and rewarding machines, you'll want to know the system requirements first, so you can be sure it's the right choice for you.

This post tells you the system requirements for all of our favorite golf launch monitors with simulation.

Keep in mind that third-party simulator software has its own system requirements. So if you're going to be doing virtual golf at home, you can check for simulation software system requirements here.

FlightScope Mevo Plus System Requirements

Phones / iPads with:

  • iOS 14 or later
  • Bluetooth LE 4.0 - supports UART/Serial Port Emulation service with RX and TX characteristics
  • Visit Apple Support for more information.

Android:

  • Android 6.0 or later (devices made in 2015 or later)
  • Bluetooth LE 4.0 - supports UART/Serial Port Emulation service with RX and TX characteristics

PC:

  • Intel i5 Processor

  • 8GB RAM

  • Nvidia 1070 Graphics Card equivalent (Dedicated GPU with DirectX 12 Support)
  • Windows 10 64-bit (Required)

  • Internet Connection (Required)

  • Internal 5Ghz Wi-Fi cards (Required, dongle not supported)

SkyTrak System Requirements

iOS: SkyTrak requires 3D graphics support. The following passed compatibility testing:

  • iPad Air
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad Mini 2 (with Retina Display)
  • iPad Mini 3
  • iPad Mini 4
  • iPad Pro

Android: The following Android devices have been tested in-house and are officially approved for use with SkyTrak. In general, we have seen best results with newer Android devices containing Octa-core (or dual quad-core) processors. We will continue to test more devices and will update this list accordingly.

  • Google Pixel C
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S3
  • Samsung Galaxy S6
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
  • Samsung Galaxy S8

PC:

  • Windows 7, 8, or 10
  • Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz or higher
  • 2GB RAM or higher

Bushnell Launch Pro System Requirements

The Launch Pro works through Foresight Sports software. Here are the system requirements for that.

System requirements for FSX Pro iPad
FSX Pro iPad must have iOS 10.0 or greater. Updating to the latest iOS is recommended for best use.


FSX Pro iPad is optimized for the following devices:

  • iPad (2019 and later generations)
  • iPad Air (2019 and later generations)
  • iPad Mini (5th generation)
  • iPad Pro (Requires Current App Version 1.3.2)
  • Devices with 4GB of RAM or More:
    • 1st Gen iPad Pro 12.9" 4GB (2016)
    • 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9" 4GB (2017)
    • 2nd Gen iPad Pro 10.5" 4GB (2017),
    • 3rd Gen iPad Pro 12.9" 4GB/6GB (2018)
    • 3rd Gen iPad Pro 11" 4GB/6GB (2018)
    • 4th Gen iPad Pro 11" 6GB (2020)
    • 4th Gen iPad Air 4GB (2020)
    • iPad Mini 5 and iPad Gen 9

FSX Pro iPad will also run on the following devices:

FSX Pro for PC (New):

    • recommended: 16GB+ for Swing Camera/Swing Catalyst use
  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or greater
    • recommended for Quality/Optimal Performance: GeForce RTX 3070ti/3080/3090
    • not supported: Nvidia Quadro, AMD GPU

FSX 2020 (available with Silver and Gold Subscription Packages).

FSX 2020 System Requirements

  • Operating System: 64 Bit Windows 10 or greater
    • not supported: iOS, Linux
  • Processor: 7th Gen or greater Intel i5, i7, and i9 processors
    • not recommended: AMD CPU
  • Memory/RAM: 8GB system memory
    • recommended: 16GB+ for Swing Camera/Swing Catalyst use
  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 3060 or greater
  • recommended for Quality/Optimal Performance: GeForce GTX 3070ti/3080/3090
    • not supported: Nvidia Quadro, AMD GPU

FSX PLAY is the latest software offering from Foresight Sports. It is available with the Launch Pro Silver and Gold Subscription Packages.

System requirements for FSX Play:

  • Operating System:Windows 10 or greater (64 Bit Required)
  • Processor:Min Spec: Intel i5 or i7 processors (AMD processors not recommended)
  • Memory:Min Spec: 8GB system memory
Recommended: 16GB for best performance and Swing Camera Users
  • Video Card:Min Spec: Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti or greater (AMD GPUs Not Supported)
Recommended: RTX 2060, RTX 2070, or RTX 2080

Full Swing KIT | Tiger Woods's Launch Monitor

As of now, The Full Swing Kit is only compatible on iOS.

iOS Compatibility:

  • iPhone® (10 and higher), running iOS 14 and higher
  • iPad® (7th generation and higher), running iOS 14 and higher
  • iPad® Air (3rd generation and higher), running iOS 14 and higher
  • iPad® Pro (all models), running iOS 14 and higher
  • Apple Watch® 3 or higher, running watchOS 7 or higher
  • Apple AirPods® or most any Bluetooth® headphones

Garmin Approach® R10 System Requirements

To use this device, you must pair it with the Garmin Golf™ app.

The Garmin Golf app can be installed on an Android or iOS device. Devices must meet the following minimum compatibility requirements:

Apple iOS:

  • iOS 13 or higher
  • Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch

Android:

  • 0 Android Operating System or higher
  • Compatible with phones
  • Device must natively support Google Play Store

NOTE: Phones that feature Android (Go edition) will list the Garmin Golf app as incompatible in the Play Store due to limitations making it incompatible.


2020 Rapsodo MLM2PRO Golf Launch Monitor with Simulation

System Requirements Coming Soon.

Rapsodo announced the release of its new golf product, the Mobile Launch Monitor 2 Pro (MLM2PRO™) on January 25 while making its official debut at the 2023 PGA show in Orlando. It's expected to be officially available this spring—March 31.

The Rapsodo works with both iOS and Android mobile devices. However, we do not know the exact system requirements just yet.

2023 Swing Caddie SC4 Launch Monitor with Golf Simulation

Voice Caddie unveiled a new golf launch monitor at the 2023 PGA Show and PlayBetter was there to check it out!

While it's still not available to purchase yet, we do know that the Swing Caddie SC4 works with both iOS and Android mobile devices. However, we do not know the exact system requirements just yet.
