Shot Scope PRO LX+ Rangefinder Comparison
vs Bushnell, Blue Tees, Voice Caddie & Garmin Rangefinders

Shot Scope PRO LX vs Pro LX+

Shot Scope PRO LX

What You Need To Know:

The PRO LX is the same laser rangefinder as the PRO LX+, but it does not come with the attachable H4 GPS handheld.

Therefore, the Shot Scope PRO LX does not offer GPS distances, performance shot-tracking, or statistics.

Just straight up Rangefinder features with the Pro LX.

Shot Scope PRO LX+

Shot Scope Pro L1 vs PRO LX+

Shot Scope Pro L1

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

What You Need to Know:

The Pro L1 is almost the same laser rangefinder as the PRO LX+. But the Pro L1 does not have quite the range or the magnification of the PRO LX+.

More significantly, it does not come with the attachable H4 GPS handheld and, therefore, does not provide GPS distances, performance shot-tracking, or statistics.

Shot Scope PRO LX+

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

PRO LX+ vs Bushnell Pro XE

Shot Scope Pro LX+

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

What You Need to Know:

While the poplular Bushnell Pro XE is a highly-accurate, quality-built laser rangefinder, it does not offer GPS distances or shot tracking like th H4 on the Pro LX+.

And the Shot Scope Pro LX+ at $350 cost $200 less than the Pro EX.

However, the Pro XE has enhanced slope measurements with Elements. And also has a super-sealing magnet for quick access, which the Pro LX+ does not.

Bushnell Pro XE

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

PRO LX+ vs Blue Tees Series 3 Max

Shot Scope Pro LX+

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

What You Need to Know:

As far as the rangefinder side of things, these two are similar, although the Blue Tees Series 3 Max has a built-in magnet and the Pro LX+ does not.

For pretty much the same price, the Pro LX+ offers the addition of the H4 attachable handheld for GPS distances and shot tracking.

Blue Tees Series 3 Max

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

PRO LX+ vs Voice Caddie SL2

Shot Scope Pro LX+

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

What You Need to Know:

The Voice Caddie SL2 is a hybrid golf laser rangefinder with built-in GPS that adds some amazing technology for information about the green and course managment.

And while it's $250 more than the Pro LX+, it's worth it if you want luxe design, quality build, and upgraded golf features.

But again, the Pro LX+ has the detachable GPS, unlike anyhting avaiblable on the market currently.

Voice Caddie SL2

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

PRO LX+ vs Garmin Approach Z82

Shot Scope Pro LX+

Garmin fenix 6 Pro Solar Multisport GPS Watch - Black/Slate - Right Angle

What You Need to Know:

The Garmin Approach Z82 is also a hybrid golf laser rangefinder loaded with all the Garmin golf features you get in an Approach S42 GPS golf watch.

Like the Voice Caddie SL2, the Approach Z82 is $250 more than the Pro LX+ and does not have the benefit of the detachable H4 GPS unit on the Pro LX+.

Shot Scope Pro LX+ Shot Tracking

What Is Shot Tracking on the PRO LX+ Rangefinder?

Shot Scope’s 16 lightweight plug-n-play club tags easily screw into the butt-end of every club. The tags communicate with the device to identify what club was hit and its location on the course.

To record a shot, tap the club against the GPS screen and the device will vibrate to confirm club detection. After the round, check out hundreds of performance statistics on Shot Scope’s free mobile app and web dashboard.

Both the Shot Scope mobile app and web dashboard provide detailed statistics on your game. The stats on each platform vary, so you'll want to explore both to see which platform you prefer.

What Can You Do with the Shot Scope App?

Created for all skill levels, the free Shot Scope app allows golfers to track their performance over time and analyze areas for improving their game.

Compare your game against other handicaps to understand your strengths and weaknesses. This can also help you set goals or targets going forward.

The app includes free updates, and no subscription is required.

Data includes:

  • overview of your shot statistics in as much detail as you would like
  • real club distances based on the distance you hit your clubs on the course (not the range)
  • a detailed breakdown of all your tee shot statistics
  • your green success and misses on the main graphic, as well as proximity breakdowns, and green success by club
  • PinCollect allows for highly accurate short game statistics to be produced such as: average proximity, up & down %, sand save % as well as individual club performance
  • a breakdown of putts missed long and short within 3ft (or outside 3ft) of the hole
  • your scoring breakdown or birdies, bogeys (and more) as well as average Par 3, Par 4 and Par 5 scores
  • Strokes Gained gives you a positive or negative score for each aspect of the game against a defined benchmark

Is the Shot Scope Pro LX+ a Slope Rangefinder?

Yes! The Shot Scope Pro LX+ is a slope rangefinder.

Slope is the change in elevation between two points. On the course, you experience slope all the time because rarely does a shot go from one point to another that is at the same height.

Slope technology—or compensation—in a rangefinder can give you an adjusted distance to shoot for by dividing the "run" over "rise" between you and the flag. Yes, a laser rangefinder can do the math for you to help you shoot for pinpoint distances!
