FlightScope Pro Package: Should You Upgrade Your Mevo Gen2 or Mevo Plus?

Unlock tour-level swing insight from a budget-friendly launch monitor. FlightScope’s newest upgrades don’t just add data—they transform your Mevo Gen2  into a true analysis machine.

Limited-Time Sale (Holiday 2025)

As of November 10, 2025, FlightScope has discounted its entire Mevo lineup, including upgrades. The Pro Package and Face Impact Location add-ons are available for hundreds off through January 5, 2026.

If you’ve been thinking about stepping up your FlightScope data game, this is the moment.

Big news from FlightScope. The company’s two most advanced software upgrades, the Pro Package and Face Impact Location, are now available for both the Mevo Gen2 and the Mevo Plus.

And that’s a seriously exciting development. Because these features take an already data-rich launch monitor and push it into a different league.

The Pro Package unlocks a full suite of advanced club metrics. Things like face-to-path, swing plane, low point, and dynamic loft that give you a complete picture of how you deliver the club through impact.

Add Face Impact Location, and you’ll see exactly where on the face you’re striking the ball and how that contact pattern influences your flight and spin.

Put them together, and your FlightScope becomes far more than a feedback tool. It’s a full-blown swing analysis system designed for golfers who want to understand not just what happened, but why.

Let’s break down what each upgrade adds, who they’re best for, and how to decide whether this level of insight is worth it for you.

What You Get Out of the Box

Before even talking about upgrades, it’s worth remembering how loaded the base Mevo platform already is.

Whether you’re using the Mevo Plus or the newer Mevo Gen2, you’re getting directly measured radar data powered by FlightScope Fusion Tracking, which is the same underlying technology found in the company’s top-of-the-line $15,000 X3C launch monitor.

Right out of the box, you’ll get:

  • Carry, total, and roll distance
  • Club and ball speed
  • Smash factor
  • Spin rate and spin axis
  • Vertical and horizontal launch
  • Angle of attack
  • Apex height and flight time
  • Shot shape and lateral landing
  • Putting launch speed and total distance

That’s already elite-level data, without any subscription or upgrade requirements.

So if your main goal is reliable feedback on all of the basics and a few deeper-level metrics, the standard Mevo Plus or Mevo Gen2 setup gives you everything you need.

But if you want to truly understand your swing mechanics and the real cause-and-effect between what you’re doing and how your ball is flying, the Pro Package and Face Impact upgrades are where the story gets interesting.

What the FlightScope Pro Package Adds

The Pro Package builds on your Mevo’s baseline metrics by adding 11 advanced club and flight parameters. Together, they give you a complete picture of your path and face orientation.

You get:

  • Club path
  • Face to path
  • Face to target
  • Vertical swing plane
  • Horizontal swing plane
  • Low point
  • Dynamic loft
  • Vertical descent angle
  • Curve
  • Speed profile
  • Acceleration profile

This is the information that separates good data from great insight. I honestly wasn’t completely sold on the critical value of this information until I used it myself. Then I realized how this is the exact information you really need to make adjustments and improvements.

Coaches, clubfitters, and competitive players already know that they need this kind of information. It’s one of the reasons they don’t typically go for the budget-friendly launch monitors.

But even average players can get a ton from this level of feedback. I can’t call it essential. And I’m not saying that very casual players really need it. But I also think that most people who buy a FlightScope Mevo Gen2 or Mevo Plus are fairly serious about improvement. And for them, I actually do think the Pro Package is borderline essential.

The Pro Package is a one-time software upgrade that sells for $1,000 at regular retail, though it’s often discounted during promotions like FlightScope’s holiday sale.

It’s not a small investment, but it’s worth remembering that this is a one-time cost. With competing launch monitors, you have to either pay much more or you have to pay an ongoing subscription that adds up to much more over time.

Face Impact Location: The Missing Piece

You can have the perfect path and face relationship, but if you miss the center of the clubface, everything changes.

The Face Impact Location add-on reveals exactly where you’re making contact on every swing. Using precise impact mapping, it displays lateral and vertical strike position and overlays those patterns across your clubface.

You’ll immediately see if you tend to miss toward the toe or heel, or high or low on the face. And you’ll be able to start to tie those tendencies to the ball flights you’re seeing, good and bad. Even better, you can start to correlate impact location with launch and spin data.

You’ll also get a complete appreciation for the difference in ball speed you see between a center strike and one that you didn’t quite flush.

The Face Impact Location upgrade normally runs $499. Or you can bundle it with the Pro Package for $1,499 total — often less during FlightScope promotions.

Just like the Pro Package, Face Impact Location is a permanent unlock, so there’s no recurring fees. Considering how much this feature deepens your understanding of strike quality and consistency, it’s arguably one of the best add-ons for players who want to tighten dispersion and improve contact.

So, Should You Upgrade?

I mean, it’s like anything. If you’re willing to put in the time to learn and work on improving, the information you get with the Pro Package and Face Impact Location feature is incredibly powerful. It’s really, really good.

But if you’re not going to use it, it’s obviously not worth paying extra for.

I think for teachers and clubfitters, these are essential tools. The same goes for anyone playing golf for a living. If you’re at that level, you need this level of feedback and insight.

For the rest of us, it’s a bit more complicated and probably comes down to budget. I totally respect that a launch monitor is expensive, and that these additional features add a significant amount to what’s already a substantial spend.

But you’re buying FlightScope because you’re a data geek. Or because you want accuracy that’s trustworthy. If you’re interested in the Mevo Plus or Mevo Gen2, you’re definitely the type of golfer who’s interested in going deep with their analysis. Otherwise, you’d pick a simpler and less-expensive launch monitor. There are plenty of them to choose from.

So if I’m right about the FlightScope customer being the type of golfer who wants to go deep with their data insights, then yeah, I think you’ve got to think really hard about biting the bullet and getting both the Pro Package and Face Impact Location add-on. I think you’re buying this tool to get everything that it can do. And I think if you stop short of that, you’re only going to be disappointed.

In fact, when you do add these upgrades, I actually think a fully unlocked FlightScope Mevo Gen2 is about the most economical way that you can get pro-level feedback. It really is that good and that big of a differentiator.

So, for golfers who are serious about this stuff, I kind of look at adding these features as an inevitability. If you find them on sale, I’d go ahead and get it over with. You’re gonna love it.
